In 2013-2014 UMF Will Celebrate its 150th Anniversary
with a Monumental Year-Long Salute
Chartered in October 1863 and opening its doors in August 1864, the Western State Normal School, as UMF was first constituted, was Maine’s first public institution of higher education.
Appreciating that our 150th is as worthy of celebration as a wedding is, UMF has generated the 150 for 150 Anniversary Registry–a unique opportunity to donate to UMF as it showcases 150 items that will help us usher in our bold future.
The 150 items, which were identified by students, faculty, and staff this past fall—the students even used Facebook to contribute more ideas—span Academics and Athletics to Campus Beautification and Student Life. Items run the range of prices to fit every passion and pocketbook.
Please browse the Registry and donate for items that inspire, knowing that your support advances UMF in ways we most need.
We turn 150 only once, after all, and we want to be ready for the big day.
Donating to the Registry is easy. Simply explore the website and “Click to Donate” which will take you to our secure online store to complete your transaction by credit card or electronic check. Or, if you’d prefer, feel free to send us a paper check for your donation. Be sure to include the item names and numbers in the memo of your check. Please make checks payable to University of Maine at Farmington. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or (207) 778-7090.
